who we are

Built on Faith, Driven by Love

You don’t have to do life alone. Whether you’re brand new or already walking with Jesus — you belong here.

About Salvation Church

Salvation Church Uganda, a place where faith comes alive and community feels like family. Nestled in the heart of Namulanda, we are a growing fellowship of believers dedicated to knowing Christ and making Him known.

We believe that church is more than just a Sunday service—it is a lifestyle of love, worship, and service. Our mission is to be a beacon of hope in Namulanda and beyond, offering spiritual nourishment and practical support to everyone who walks through our doors.

At Salvation Church Uganda, you will find a place to belong. Whether you are exploring faith for the first time or have walked with God for years, our doors are open to you. We are committed to teaching the Word of God with clarity and relevance, creating an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit moves freely, and raising up leaders who will transform their communities.

Our Story

Salvation Church Uganda (SCU) has a rich legacy rooted in transformation, vision, and dedication to God’s mission. Originally founded as Soterion Church, SCU has emerged from the vision of Bishop Daniel who began meeting in Namulanda, Entebbe, Uganda in 2010 after responding to a growing desire for his support with underprivileged children. Starting with tents at a rented house the congregation soon grew into a vibrant center of worship.

The vision then moved into a project called “abaana“ which helped many local desolate
children. It became a symbol a testimony to the faith and energy of the early members.
In February 2019, a new chapter began as Pastor Nijel and first lady Doreen Rawlins assumed leadership of SCU, carrying forward the vision to be a modern expression of an ancient faith, welcoming
people from all generations on a transformative journey to flourish AND PROSPER in Christ.
In 2020, after a season of prayerful reflection on the
Great Commission, Soterion Church underwent a
re-envisioning process. This culminated with the
church embracing the meaning of the name
“Soterion” which actually in the Greek means
Salvation. This name change, Salvation Church
Uganda symbolizes a rebirth in mission, values, and
identity as a community focused on both local
impact in Uganda and global outreach through
social media.

Under their guidance, SCU continues to expand its
vision of raising and equipping each generation in
Uganda for impactful lives by teaching them to
embrace *kingdom culture and live Kingdom values.
*For us, the term “kingdom culture” means the
shared beliefs, values, and practices from the word
of God that define who we are as a church and how
we engage with the world around us.
